TWO WEEKS REMAIN FOR HOLIDAY BOOK DRIVE
Annual Barnes & Noble, Waterside Shops Event Benefits Naples-based K is for Kids Foundation®
December 14, 2010 – Shoppers can give the gift of literacy as they pick up their last minute gifts at popular bookseller Barnes & Noble, located at Waterside Shops in Naples. The store is hosting a Holiday Book Drive with proceeds benefiting the non-profit K is for Kids Foundation.
Through December 31, customers have the opportunity to purchase grade-appropriate books which K is for Kids will donate to school and community libraries throughout Collier County that serve the most economically needy children. The books will be used to fill the gaps in existing library collections.
Hardcover books are most appreciated, as they last the longest. However, soft cover books are also welcome. Shoppers may also donate Barnes & Noble gift certificates.
Online monetary donations are also welcome by logging onto www.KisForKids.org.
This marks the third consecutive year that the Foundation has been the beneficiary of Barnes & Noble’s Holiday Book Drive, which started at the beginning of November.
“It’s an honor,” states K is for Kids Founder and Executive Director Karen Clawson. “We’re thrilled to be able to partner with Barnes & Noble to ensure our mutual goal, which is to place books in the hands of as many children as possible.”
The K is for Kids display at Barnes & Noble is located near the checkout line by the front door, and features several recommended titles for pre-school through high school aged students, but shoppers are welcome to browse the extensive children’s and young adult sections for book selections, too.
Please help us feed and uplift young people’s minds and spirits by donating a book, a gift certificate, or making an online donation.
