Teens Sign Up for our K is for Kids’ Partner Event with SWFL Reading Festival!

Students volunteering at our K is for Kids Book Fair & Fun’raiser Saturday, March 3rd at Barnes & Noble, Coconut Point Mall:  Sign up now!

Sign up now by calling Karen Clawson at 239.596.KIDS (5437) OR calling/texting her at  239.595.0077.  You can also email [email protected].  Please don’t forget to provide YOUR NAME, and the fun’raising station you’d like to volunteer for — see list below.

All volunteers will be given our K is for Kids’ Teen Advisory Team white t-shirts — thanks to a grant from BestBuy of Naples!  Girls may wear camisoles underneath.

NOTE:  If you are volunteering with K is for Kids for the FIRST time and NOT with the National Honor Society at Gulf Coast or Barron Collier High Schools, CLICK here to go to our webpage with links to the necessary forms that Collier County Public Schools and your guidance counselor require (if you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian must sign the form) — https://kisforkids.org/for-teens/

TEENS ARRIVE AT NOON and may choose to volunteer at posts helping participants and/or other teens; or at the fun’raising stations

* Teen representatives —  help other teens to sign in; check on stations, etc.

* Greeters at doors — greet guests, disseminate information, and direct participants to area where the author will be.  Note:  if children want to write a page in our commemorative Young Authors book, see the next post;

* Registration table for participants — Give forms for children who wish to be in our 4th commemorative Young Authors book for the  Media Release & Authorization plus Young Authors story form;

* Scavenger Hunt Prizes, Raffle Prizes & Raffle Tickets; — Give each participant one ticket; and for each book a guest donates, an extra ticket;  volunteer(s) will also be responsible for raffle prizes and the prizes given after the scavenger hunt.

* Photographer(s) & Videographers(s) — speak to Mrs. Clawson, discretion is key;

* Teen journalists — have fun interviewing guests, young and old, for the press release afterwards;

* “Assistants” who go to each of the fun’raising stations to see what might be needed (ex. face painters need water replaced)

THEN FUN’RAISING STATIONS BEGIN!  Teens can volunteer to help —

* Read stories;

* Do face painting;

* Give scavenger hunts;

* Help kids with Young Authors Book Writing — teens help kids write their personal page for our K is for Kids book!

* Help kids get their complimentary photo taken to accompany their story!  Need volunteer(s) to serve as photographer’s assistants for WILKINSONphotography — helping kids get paperwork done and ready to smile!

* Balloon twisting & creations by Walt Timoney, family entertainer;
