Comcast to air PSAs promoting children’s literacy month and book fair, Bring a Book, Bring a Friend, showcasing teen spokespersons

Thanks to K is for Kids’ headline sponsor, Comcast, viewers will soon see several PSAs (Public Service Announcements) recently filmed by our teen spokespersons.   The 30-second videos will air throughout February….

K is for Kids Foundation extends our deepest appreciation to Comcast for their support in helping us promote children’s literacy and leadership amongst the children of Collier County, and for showcasing these students’ efforts to help give other children the books they need to succeed in school and in life.  The teens in the videos have collectively donated hundreds of hours to help advance K is for Kids’ mission and we are proud of the service performed for our cause by all of our graduating seniors.

All the PSAs were filmed at ITZ Media Group’s new production studios in Naples under the guidance of producer, filmmaker and actor Chuck Ardezzone with videographer Jor’El Schustrin.

Four graduating seniors from three Coller County high schools — Ali Martin and Erin Clawson from Gulf Coast, George Hiller and Chen Yu from Barron Collier, and Danielle Verduchi from Naples — joined Jessica Cederquist and Daniela Alban (the former a current student at Barron Collier and the latter, a graduate of the school) to shoot the videos.

The theme of the book fair in honor of the First Lady and Audrey Hepburn, the subject of Ms. Cardillo's biographical book "Just Being Audrey." All participants were given white beads in honor of the late actress' fondness for fashion..

The teens all experienced a “first” for this PSA — each teen went into a sound booth to record the voice over for footage shot at K is for Kids’ 2011 book fair at Barnes & Noble (produced by ITZ with videographer Joshua Abel).  The PSA will run through February 11th.

The next PSA tells people about the Bring a Book, Bring a Friend for Children’s Literacy Month and encourages people to join K is for Kids’ campaign to help give children in need more books to read by supporting our events and efforts, or starting their own fun’raisers with friends.
