Big Book Giveaway Project, Day 1 & 2: Gulf Coast High School student adds charm to storage room

Adding charm to a storage room can be a daunting task, but Cynthia, a Gulf Coast High School senior and K is for Kids Teen Advisory Team member is working her magic with furniture and items on hand while waiting for more bookshelves to be donated.

Cynthia, a Gulf Coast High School senior and K is for Kids Teen Advisory Team member, is pictured above at the 4th annual Kids Celebrate Reading Book Fair held in February at Barnes & Noble, Waterside Shops.

Day 1 and 2 saw cardboard boxes become small bookcases atop tables normally used for face painting while a dresser and lamp turned into a warm display of baby board books.  All in all, Cynthia has created an inviting place for participants of K is for Kids’ annual book distribution to come in and choose books for their students and children, from babies to middle schoolers!  With just half of the books up that were donated by the community for elementary and middle schools students during February’s Bring a Book, Bring a Friend for Children’s Literacy Month, Cynthia has her work cut out to showcase the books but still keep the charm.

DAY 3: Cynthia Booz has all the books unpacked and continues to find creative ways to display the books for March 27th’s book distribution to grant recipients serving babies to middle schoolers
