Business Professionals Invited to Share Their Experience With Tomorrow’s Leaders
Are you a business professional interested in donating your time to help local teens?
K is for Kids® Foundation continues to expand its efforts to promote children’s literacy and leadership by launching a new monthly column on its website tailored to teens. The column will begin in mid-November.
Featuring topics related to teen leadership & success, the Foundation encourages community members, business leaders, and professionals to donate “Ten Moments of Mentoring” and join our line-up of strategic ‘tip-sters’. We are looking for contributors to present 10 tips on topics that help teens build stronger communication and leadership skills. Currently K is for Kids® sponsors guest speakers to talk to youth who are attending our Teen Advisory Team meetings and children’s literacy events. Having an online connection will provide valuable mentoring and support for our youth volunteers while achieving our goal to widen the audience to teens who aren’t able to attend meetings or events.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for this column.
Business professional who would like to share Tips for Success with Teens or are interested in learning more information, please ring Karen Clawson at 239-961-8455 or 595-0077. Material for consideration may be sent by email to [email protected]. Please include your contact information, and if a head shot for the column if interested. Video clips are also encouraged.
Background:
The Teen Advisory Team serves as the energy and inspiration fueling the Foundation’s mission of promoting literacy and a love of reading in children [see below for more information]. The teens also serve as our spokespersons, writing op-eds (opinion-editorial pieces) and appearing in PSAs (public service announcements).
