The morning began when Atlantis Cars & Limousines picked up the students at their school.
As the kids heard what was on the agenda, the anticipation mounted: Their trip would include three fun stops at the Waterside Shops; which for many would be first-time visits
A lively tour of California Pizza Kitchen began the fun-making!
Students learned all about the restaurant business, and, of course, how CPK’s signature pizzas were made. Appetites were peaking as the kids created their own personal pizzas. Everyone agreed that lunch was delicious!
Next stop was the Apple Store!
Each student was given an Apple Store field trip certificate and a complimentary Apple t-shirts.
Then it was time to step in front of an iPad to create a video about their favorite books and why they love to read.
Of course, any visit to the Apple Store must include time for hands-on “play” on its high-tech “toys”!
Before they left, the students received a USB wristband from Apple that would later be uploaded with the video produced, as well as the snapshots taken of their special day.
Excitement ran high throughout the Apple visit. Upon exiting the store, one young man exclaimed, “I’m gonna’ save my money this summer so I can come back and buy everything!”
The field trip finished, fittingly, at Barnes & Noble Booksellers.
The students were honored when Mayor John Sorrey III came to meet and congratulate them on their successes. All posed for a photograph to commemorate the occasion, too.
Finally, what better way to wrap up the fun than to shop for new books? The fourth- and fifth-graders received gift cards from K is for Kids and were off hunting the perfect books to take home.
A few games and glances at the Nooks filled the last moments before the kids were whisked away once more by Atlantis Cars & Limousines.
K is for Kids would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to all who helped give the students an awesome day to remember: Mayor John Sorrey III, Tamika Seaton, California Pizza Kitchen, the Apple Store, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Atlantis Cars & Limousines, Wilkinson Photography, Golden Terrace Elementary School, GTE Media Specialist TJ Weeks, the Collier County Public School District, and Karen Clawson, founder & E.D. of K is for Kids.
