With the motto “Climb Higher. Help Others.” K is for Kids’ teen leaders are slowly expanding their Operation: Outreach initiative to area high schools.
Barron Collier High and Lorenzo Walker Technical High will be joining Gulf Coast High School this year. The leadership program was introduced at Gulf Coast High in 2013-14.
“We wanted to start the club at our high schools to create a ‘ladder for leaders’ that would give students the chance to climb up to higher levels of leadership,” said Gulf Coast High graduate now University of Florida freshman, Patrick Clawson Jr. who now serves as a university student advisor to K is for Kids high school leaders. “And as the Club’s leaders near graduation, they help guide and give a hand up to the younger students who want to take the lead.”
Krisha Mac, a student at Lorenzo Walker Technical High School, is the President of Operation: Outreach-LWTH and organized the first club rush of the school year at Lorenzo Walker Technical High on September 5th. Krisha is also one of K is for Kids’ top teen leaders serving on DOSA-Directorate of Student Agenda.
Club rushes up next up are Barron Collier High and Gulf Coast High next Wednesday.
