Children may bring in their gently used books as well. Books for all ages of children are needed, from toddlers to teens.
Highlights include:
Guest Author, Margaret Cardillo
Nationally published guest author and Barron Collier High School graduate, Margaret Cardillo will be presenting her debut book just released by Harper Collins, “Just About Audrey.” Ms. Cardillo will share why she was inspired to write a book about the late famous actress who was admired for her acting, impeccable fashion sense and world-wide humanitarian efforts to help children.
Writing Workshop
Ms. Cardillo will give a writing workshop to help young writers in the crowd bring their own stories to life.
Special Appearance
Another special guest will appear to help encourage children to share their stories.
Young Authors Write!
Time for kids of all ages to put pen to paper and write their own page in the third K is for Kids® Young Authors book!
The first books was titled “Wishes, Dreams, Gifts & Things,” the second was “Wishes, Dreams & Everything,” and now children will get the chance to write together about their own role models in life — the people, heros or heroines who inspire them, or the “shining stars” who uplift them. Of course, our young authors may already have a story they’d like to share, and that’s fine, too!
Kids of all ages may have their photo taken with the author and the photos will be available on our website at KisforKids.org, where they can be downloaded for free, and also may be viewed on our K is for Kids page on Facebook.
Book Signing
Ms. Cardillo will be signing her book, also.
Photographs with Author and for Young Authors page
K is for Kids® own teen photographers, Madisyn & Kelsey, will be on hand to photograph children along with professional photographer Lane Wilkinson. Participants will have their photos taken at the book signing and then Lane will create a photographic portrait of each young author to accompany their page in the book!
Storytimes, Scavenger Hunt & Face Painting with Prizes, Too!
So many fun activities for kids of all ages! A special “sir-prize” drawing at the end of the afternoon, too.

SWFL Charity TV will be on hand with actor and film maker Chuck Ardezzone to catch the action. A special scene will be shot at 3:30 for those who’d like to help promote our cause: Kids need more books to read!
