GL Homes donated $1,000 to K is for Kids to help boost reading programs for local students. GL Homes V.P. Tambra Wolfe presented the check to Mary Moussa.
Mary is one of K is for Kids’ top teen leaders and student ambassadors and is serving in a full internship with the foundation this school year focusing on business administration and communication. She is a Gulf Coast High School senior and an early admissions student at Edison State College.
The check was presented at Riverstone, GL Homes new development of single family homes in north Naples.
Mary is following her sister, Marina’s, footsteps: Marina Moussa accepted the grant last year from GL Homes (see below). Marina served as one of K is for Kids top student leaders in 2012-13 when she too was a Gulf Coast High senior and early admissions student at Florida Gulf Coast University. Marina co-chaired the second From the Heart Teen Fashion Festival in 2013 and was an intern for the Foundation.
The Moussas are an an example of families in action for K is for Kids: Mary and Marina have a younger brother who is already involved with the Foundation’s programs. Though still in elementary school, he modeled a tuxedo from the Men’s Warehouse in the last show’s special children’s section. The children’s father also actively volunteers as an extra set of helping hands for the fashion show. A special thank you goes to GL Homes for its continued support of K is for Kids’ readers and leaders programs. The company was the first business sponsor of the Bring a Book, Bring a Friend Fun’raiser launched by Karen Clawson almost a decade ago when event was hosted in GL Homes’ first Naples development, Saturnia Lakes.
