February is Children’s Literacy Month in Naples

Love is in the air in February, and it’s the love of children and books that is fueling our Bring a Book, Bring a Friend® for Children’s Literacy Month!  All Starbucks in Collier County are collecting books for K is for Kids® Foundation to distribute to those children in the community who need them most.  Donate a book today:  Together we’ll enrich children’s lives one book at a time!

FEBRUARY IS BRING A BOOK, BRING A FRIEND® FOR CHILDREN’S LITERACY MONTH!  All Starbucks Coffee Houses in Collier County are collecting books for kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens. New & gently used books are welcome!  This is the second year for the event sponsored by K is for Kids® Foundation.  All books will be distributed to those children who are under-served within the community.

More events for children this month:  Valentine’s Day we launched a preview of our book “Wishes, Dreams, Gifts & Things:  A collection of very short stories by children.”  Email us so you can have your special preview at [email protected].

Our Children’s Literacy Month culminates in our K is for Kids® Book Fair on SATURDAY, MARCH 6TH, 12 – 5 PM at Barnes & Noble, Waterside Shops, Naples.

LOTS OF FAMILY FUN ACTIVITIES ARE PLANNED FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES :  Local guest authors will be on hand reading passages from and signing their books while encouraging children to write their own stories — because all kids will get the chance to become authors themselves by writing a page for our book, then have their portrait created by photographer Karen Walsh Haupt.  Plus, there will be a scavenger hunt, face painting, balloon and more!  Ring 239-961-8455 for more information.

P.S.  Did you catch the article about our Teen Advisory Team in the Naples Daily News?  Here is the link:

They were previously featured in January’s issue of Life in Naples magazine also!

Spokespersons from our K is for Kids® Foundation’s Teen Advisory Team will be at the book fair to speak to and assist children and their families in all activities!
