K is for Kids’ founder and executive director, Karen Clawson appeared on the Morning Blend with Brandon Velez, a FGCU graduate who was the Foundation’s first intern. The two spoke with the Blend’s co-host, Carley Wegman about the Foundation’s fourth annual literacy month and “fun’raising” season.

Thanks to Brandon’s success interning, K is for Kids is now introducing an internship program for students, starting with Brandon’s alma mater, Florida Gulf Coast University.  Brandon worked with K is for Kids’ Teen Advisory Team leaders over the summer of 2011, and was also instrumental in streamlining some of the Foundation’s social media posts.  Brandon is now employed by Best Buy as its SWFL Community Relations Coordinator for Social Media, Online Marketing and Events.  He continues to volunteer for K is for Kids and make significant impacts to advancing its cause.
