It’s always exciting when a guest author visits our kids, but especially when it’s Juliana Howard, author of “Catie the Copycat”! Spurred by the smiles she inspires…
K is for Kids is pleased to roll out a new program for authors – and adults – who have joined our cause. Yes, grown-ups have been requesting the unique one-on-one mentorship that our youth volunteers enjoy! Read on to learn more.
An impassioned author and entertainer
Wherever Juliana Howard appears, she not only shares her book “Catie the Copycat” with youngsters, she dazzles them with her singing and dancing! Juliana has appeared four times for K is for Kids, the first in 2012 when the Foundation launched its literacy month for children in Immokalee at the Farm Worker Village; the next year she brightened a meeting for Media Specialists of Collier County Public Schools meeting, and then she visited students at Golden Gate High School and Avalon Elementary School. Each time, those in the audience – whether child, teen or adult – walk away feeling inspired and invigorated!
Spurred by the success of Juliana Howard and the smiles she brings to children of all ages, K is for Kids announces the rollout of two new programs, supporting those who support our kids:
AUTHORS:
As part of a new K is for Kids program created to help those beloved authors who support our cause, has created a communication channel to help “broadcast” your availability to appear as guest authors – not only at our events but for other organizations as well.
To learn more, email founder and executive director Karen D. Clawson at [email protected] or call 239.596.KIDS (5437).
AUTHORS AND ADULT VOLUNTEERS:
In conjunction with our special children’s book author promotions, we have another complimentary service we have been giving to our both education and business partners – five free hours of “fun’raising” consultations tailored to match their personal and professional missions.
Although K is for Kids’ primary volunteers are teenagers, and the focus of our programs and efforts are aimed at helping students, especially those nearing graduation and about to enter college or the workforce, develop their skills, boost their resumes, and earn community service hours helping our kids to “read and lead” – we have an increasing number of adults who wish to also learn and receive mentorship about how they, too, can apply their skills and talents to our cause while achieving their own personal and/or professional dreams – hence, our Foundation’s leaders and advisors are offering up to five free hours of fun’raising consultations – one-on-one!
