YOU are invited to CityFest! Come join our Teen Advisory Team as they create storyboards with kids of all ages for a large filmstrip on canvas and special one-of-a-kind K is for Kids® book at the “Films & Flavors on 5th” event Saturday, October 30th, 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
That’s right! Naples International Film Festival invites YOU to their first ever “Films and Flavors on 5th” event co-sponsored with the Downtown Naples Association! All great films tell a great story, so in honor of this event our Teen Advisory Team will be creating a story with kids of all ages: Participants may write, draw and color individual storyboards that will be posted onto a 9x4ft. canvas being created by HiTek Imaging before being included in a special one-of-a-kind K is for Kids® book. Founder Karen D. Clawson says, “This event ties in nicely with our mission of encouraging children to not only read more books, but to realize they themselves have the power and imagination to tell amazing stories, too.”
Storytellers, writers and fun’raisers are invited join in this collaborative fun or drop by our spot at the corner of 5th Avenue & 3rd Street in front of the fountain near BICE restaurant. Free balloons to participants while they last. Teens will also be doing face painting!
Note to teens who would like to volunteer for this event: All volunteers MUST sign up by emailing [email protected]. Teens new to K is for Kids® must schedule a brief orientation with Mrs. Clawson before the event. Photographers and film crews will be covering this event and it’s important that the public be able to recognize our volunteers easily as well, therefore all volunteers must wear the special T-shirt designed for this event identifying them as a member of our Teen Advisory Team or TA.T. The shirts are being ordered now from Naples Team Sports so ring or text 595-0077 with your size. See the sample below:
Shirts are all black with long sleeves and have white print. Last names will be individually printed on the back across the top and cost $18.00; without the name the shirts will cost $12.00. There will be no sales tax charged as K is for Kids® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Volunteers may pay at the event by cash or check made out to K is for Kids® Foundation Inc.
Also, volunteers under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the Media Release & Authorization form. If you wish for your volunteer hours to count toward community service hours needed for high school and college, COMPLETE this form and turn into your Guidance Counselor at your school a.s.a.p.
